Britney Spears: Not Really For the Record

On the eve of the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, Britney Spears invited a film crew into her life. The film you are about to see was captured over the 60 days that followed. No topic was off limits. No question went unanswered.

MTV’s feature film (we can’t call it a documentary with a straight face) For the Record, which was supposed to examine everything in the life of Britney Spears, began with these words. Only it appears many things were in fact off limits.

Conveniently glossed over were her being placed on a 5150 hold, wearing no pants to clubs, hangin’ with Sam Lutfi, railing Adnan Ghalib, being strapped to a gurney (twice!) and placed under a conservatorship, among other things.

We’re not saying Brit must relive the past and pay for her mistakes forever. She should be allowed to move on. But come on, the people want to know about those things!

Moreover, why market this as a frickin’ tell-all? If it’s just behind-the-scenes footage of papa Jamie Spears cookin’, well … that’s kinda cool. If presented as such. It’s not.

Disappointing. Here’s part one of For the Record

Eva Longoria’s a Closet Smoker

Eva Longoria was in Puerto Rico this past weekend for a girlfriend’s wedding and, boy, was she smoking like a chimney!

This picture officially kills the pregnancy rumor.

Why don’t you ever show off your dirrrrrty habit here in Hollywood, Eva?

Gross.

Teenage Girls Love Chris Brown

wenn21861062.jpg

Who would have thought Chris Brown was in such high demand????

Well, it turns out Chris is the most viewed singer on in-demand television.

Music Choice, one of television’s on-demand services, announced today that Brown was the most requested artist in a one year period.

His fans ordered millions of free plays to view his music videos and interviews.

In fact, fans ordered Brown over 43 million times.

Music Choice even honored Chris with its first “Most Demanded” award.

Also close were the Jonas Brothers and Lil’ Wayne who also brought in millions of downloads.

And, according to network executive Damon Williams, teenage girls were the ones primarily responsible for Brown’s downloads.

Somehow, we doubt he’ll be this popular the same time next year.

What do U think? Will he last?

Akon’s Trial Postponed

akon-guilty.jpg

Akon won”t have to sit in court….just yet.

The singer’s assault trial, scheduled to commence on Monday, in Fishkill Town Justice Court, has been postponed ’til December 17th.

The trial comes as a result of a guilty plea to charges of endangering the welfare of a minor, which occurred during a June 2007 concert when Akon threw a 15-year-old fan from the stage.

At the later court date, it will be determined whether or not the case can be taken care of without a trial.

We think Akon should be banned from performing for his own good - something always seems to go wrong!

Gossip Girl Stars Making Some Real Life Gossip!

gossip-girl-and-boy.jpg

Celebrities are just like us!

And just like us, they get stuck in holiday airport traffic, waiting around for hours while drinking at overpriced airport restaurants!

Spies at the Dallas airport caught a trio of Gossip Girl cast members - Ed Westwick, Chace Crawford, and Jessica Szohr - waiting for their flights this holiday weekend.

The stars were in Texas for Thanksgiving with Chace’s family.

After Chace-Gayface-Crawford departed on an earlier flight, Ed and Jessica were caught smooching!!!!!

A spywitness says, it was “Not a French kiss, but a smooch definitely. They were being very flirty when people were not paying attention.”

At least when they thought no one was paying attention!

Sounds like some juicy real-life gossip!

Sean Penn Requested More Sexitime In Milk Script

the-original__opt.jpg

Sean Penn wanted more out of the Milk script than just a possible Oscar and a kiss from co-star James Franco.

In a new interview with Elle, Franco reveals that he was surprised by a revised version of the script sent to him a month after Van Sant asked him to be in the film.

While the original script featured only one kissing scene, the new script contained a full-on love scene.

When Franco asked Van Sant about it, the director replied, “Well, it was Sean’s idea.”

YES!!!!!

George W. Bush Issues a Mea Culpa for the Crap Economy, Being Unprepared for War And Losing It for the GOP

w__opt.jpg

This is not a joke.

Our lame duck president, George W. Bush, sat down with ABC’s Charlie Gibson Monday and showed that he doesn’t totally have his head up his ass.

W on Iraq:
“I think I was unprepared for war. In other words, I didn’t campaign and say, ‘Please vote for me, I’ll be able to handle an attack. In other words, I didn’t anticipate war. Presidents — one of the things about the modern presidency is that the unexpected will happen.” He also says that the use of incorrect intelligence for warmongering, i.e. that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, is the “biggest regret of all the presidency.”

W on the economy and government bail out:
“I’m sorry it’s happening, of course. Obviously I don’t like the idea of people losing jobs, or being worried about their 401(k)s. On the other hand, the American people got to know that we will safeguard the system. I mean, we’re in. And if we need to be in more, we will.”

And, acknowledging that he effed things up for the Republicans:
“And I’m sure some people voted for Barack Obama because of me. I think most people voted for Barack Obama because they decided they wanted him to be in their living room for the next four years explaining policy.”

This W interview is definitely a must see!!!
